POL
Pol is a band made up of Dutch brothers Ruben and Matthijs Pol. They bring a unique fusion of sound, image, and performance that reimagines New Wave / Post-Punk not as nostalgia but as a living language of today.
In 2023, they released their self-titled debut EP, featuring songs like ‘Boys Are’ and ‘L'Amour Fait Mal’, which introduced their analog-driven edge. This was followed by the singles ‘Masks’ and ‘The Chameleon’, which embraced a more theatrical, New Romantic tone.
Drawing inspiration from the worlds of fashion, film, and visual art as much as music, Pol create immersive experiences that blur the lines between concert, performance piece, and multimedia installation. Their work balances cinematic atmospheres, pulsating rhythms, and emotionally charged songwriting, resulting in a sound that feels both timeless and distinctly contemporary.
Pol has since built an independent universe from the ground up, designing all visuals, videos, merchandise, and a fanzine themselves. Their first zine, a reflection on their West European tour, sold out at cult bookshop Librairie 1909 in Paris. Their multidisciplinary approach has also led to sound design collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, and other leading cultural institutions and brands.
With a growing reputation for striking live performances and meticulous world-building, Pol continue to carve out a singular space within the European alternative landscape—one where music, aesthetics, and storytelling converge into a fully realized artistic vision.
