KING HANNAH
King Hannah, the Liverpool duo of Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle, have emerged as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary indie rock. Blending smoky vocals, haunting melodies, blues-infused guitars, and sweeping post-rock dynamics, their music moves effortlessly between intimate reflection and towering intensity.
Formed in 2019 after meeting in Liverpool, the pair quickly gained attention with their debut EP, Tell Me Your Mind and I'll Tell You Mine (2020), before cementing their reputation with their acclaimed debut album, I'm Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me (2022).
In 2024, King Hannah returned with their sophomore album, Big Swimmer, produced by Ali Chant and released via City Slang. Featuring standout tracks including the title track with Sharon Van Etten and "New York, Let's Do Nothing," the album expands their cinematic sound while retaining the vivid storytelling and emotional depth that have become their hallmark.
Equally renowned for their captivating live shows, King Hannah have built a reputation for performances that are both deeply intimate and strikingly powerful. With Merrick's magnetic stage presence and Whittle's dynamic guitar work at the forefront, the band creates an immersive atmosphere that can shift from hushed vulnerability to thunderous intensity in an instant.
